“The ‘Goldener Karpfen’ in Fulda is celebrating during the Month of LATE HARVEST 1775–2025:”
In 1775, a young man set out from Schloss (then still Kloster) Johannisberg in the Rheingau toward Fulda to obtain the prince-bishop’s permission for grape harvesting. He was delayed— for reasons that were never clarified— by two weeks, and in doing so, he changed the course of German viticulture forever.
